Currently Happening in the Chapter The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) currently has an empolyment opportunity. Click Here for more information. The chapter will again be sending two members to attend the 2008 RSES conference in Indianapolis, Indiana from September 15th to the 20th. This year the chapter will be sending Clark Sweeney who is a very active RSES member by teaching classes and is also on the chapters board of directors. Joining Clark will be Chapter President Chris Lang. They will be presenting a review of trip during the October Chapter meeting on October 14 at Zachary's pizza in South Burlington on Williston Road. August 29, 2008 To: All RSES, Green Mountain Chapter Members Re: Upcoming Schedule of Events, Classes etc. Greetings; We hope that everyone has had a safe, prosperous and rewarding summer season. Over the summer, the officers/directors of the chapter have met to establish the schedule of events and to organize classes for the fall / winter / spring seasons. We thought that this letter would be the best way to convey our progress thus far and to communicate with the chapter members that we do not have e-mail addresses for. Since most of our communication is done by e-mail we would encourage anyone not on our e-mail list to forward it to us. We understand that some people may not have e-mail but please understand that, at the chapter level, all of the officers and directors are volunteers, and they have regular jobs that keep them busy. E-mail is, by far, a quicker and easier means of communication. This will probably be the only communication through the postal service until this time next year, so please get us your e-mail addresses.
Classes: We will be offer RAC-3 starting in late September and will continue on with RAC-4 after the first of the year. Our expectation is that the technicians in RAC-3 class that finished this past spring will join the fall class for RAC-4. We also intend on offering in September either RAC-1 or Electricity for HVACR Technicians. Discussions in the past year has led us to consider that an introduction to the electrical side of the trade for entry level people, may be more important then the refrigeration side. The electrical class gets into safety, electrical fundamentals, understanding schematics, transformer, relays, motors, etc. Please provide us with your thoughts on this as soon as you can. We have about three weeks before we will need to order books for whichever class we go with. Class cost: $250.00 for members. $350.00 for non-members (includes membership dues)
Other classes that are being considered are 410A certification, Controls, and the Heating series of class. We need feedback from the membership as to whether these are desired.
We hope to see or hear from you this fall RSES Green Mountain Chapter
